great video about the trajan font and how often it is used in film posters – yes, it is actually interesting – i’m not extracting the urine!
the font is pretty much the default film poster font particularly in horrors or dramatic blockbusters (think movies like The Hills Have Eyes or A Beautiful Mind) – take a look at this flickr group to see just how many.
As Billy Tuns points out blockbuster comedies tend to favour bold sans serif (and always in red)…

funny?
how about some imagination fellas?

on my way to find a healthy salad at lunch i stumbled across this Dale Grimshaw on Curtain Road – cleverly placed outside the gallery he is exhibiting at…

we like this
if you’ve never seen any Grimshaw then click the link above and take a gander at his work – refreshingly different and striking for sure. would working somewhere else – Soho for example be so interesting? i’m not so sure.

on the augmented reality bandwagon…
Visitors to www.experience-the-enterprise.com are given the opportunity to take an extensive five minute tour of the Enterprise, including testing the ship’s weapons systems, impulse engines and warp drive. ‘Experience The Enterprise’ is built using augmented reality (AR) technology, which combines real world and computer-generated data to bring a 3D interactive version of the Starship Enterprise to life, on your desktop or in the palm of your hand using your iPhone (i particularly like this!).
The application itself was constructed using the original 3D model of the Enterprise appearing in the film, as well as featuring an array of special effects direct from the production.
just wish i had a bloomin webcam!
